Year 5’s

Now with our school camp in Melbourne so close, it might be an interesting idea for this week’s sentence. You need to look through the very busy intinerary and write about what you anticipate on our trip next week. There may be something you are really looking forward to. You may be feeling excited, but a little bit nervous about the camp. You might not be looking forward to getting up so early on Wednesday morning…… Let me know in an interesting and well written sentence. This week take special care to spell and punctuate correctly.
If you would like to make an animation like this go to fodey. You can write your own dialogue.
We have started a google docs presentation, which you have been invited to contribute to. We will ask our Russian penpals to join in. To begin go to your email and follow the instructions to access the presentation.you can view it at

Copy the URL and paste in the address bar.
You will need to get a photo of your pet on your netbook. Then you can create a new slide and put on your image and write the name of your pet and your name.
Think about some ideas for presentations we can prepare to share with our penpals.
This week you might write a little more than a sentence. You might like to write about the very wet weather we have had over the last week. You might mention waterlogged paddocks, lots of mud, water across roads etc etc. It is probably barely in your lifetime that we have had so much water around. So it is quite a significant event especially after so many dry winters. Make your descriptions interesting and colourful. If our penpals in Russia read these posts when they return to school soon, they may comment on their weather conditions and whether they have changed or not. Scientists have suggested that for us, climate change, along with drought, is most likely responsible for our dry weather over the last decade.
Today we are at school moving slowly through Ultranet training. All teachers in the state are attempting to log on so progress is slow. What are you doing with your day?
On our walk last night with our dogs, it started raining and we all got very wet. Lenny hates walking in the rain. He has only got one eye and he can’t see the drops coming. Poor Lenny!! What have you done this wintry week?
August has started off with a cold, wet burst. But it is the last month of Winter. This year has gone so fast… Maybe with this week’s sentence you could evaluate 2010 so far. What have been some significant events? What are you looking forward to for the rest of the year?
This has been a hard week for Mr B. and me. I want to read all the good things that have been going on in your lives. That will make us both feel better. Tell me about your week…..
